Hamillroad Software is a dynamic company working to provide the printing industry with innovative solutions to everyday problems.
Hamillroad was born out of the pioneering work of Robert Miller who developed many productivity and performance enhancement concepts for the benefit of Harlequin RIP users. These ideas created a base of technological innovation ripe for further development and commercial exploitation.
Hamillroad Software Limited was then incorporated in the UK as a vehicle to develop this technology even further and bring it to market. It is led by CEO Andy Cave, the original creator and Chief Designer of the Harlequin RIP and founder member of Harlequin Limited (now Global Graphics Software Limited).
The company continues co-operative research and development efforts, as well as sales and marketing, on a worldwide basis.

DM Screening digitally modulates every pixel it produces – precisely controlling the dots within and between each separation to eliminate noise and graininess. It does this through the use of a “stochastic rosette” which interleaves the screens in the separations to remove noise and moiré. The stochastic rosette maximises the ink-on-paper area and minimizes the amount of ink-on-ink to expand the available color gamut while eliminating color shifts due to misregistration.
The screening analyzes each pixel to ensure that no dot is too small to plate or print but is not large enough to be visible. The result is a quality of print that was previously unobtainable.
The FirstPROOF solution allows users to simulate errors, which could otherwise occur on press, helping users to save valuable time and money during the prepress process.
Our Lightning plugins work with the Harlequin RIP to improve the output speed of TIFF, PDF or LEN files, making the prepress screening (RIP output) process up to ten times faster and more efficient.
